How to Be an Open Source Rock Star (Or at Least a Local Celebrity)

As developers, we want to influence the direction and features provided by the Spring or other open source projects we use every day. How can we do this? By contributing to our favorite open source projects via issues, code, docs, tests and more. However, the question remains, “How do I get started?” In this talk, we will cover the various ways you can contribute to a Spring project and walk you through the process with a live demonstration. But then you will get some homework. We will create a couple of simple issues so you can submit your first PR and we will help you through the process. Slides will be written in haiku.
