Managing Continuous Change Within Air France–KLM’s Flight Operations Software Landscape

Track: Case Studies

Air France KLM is modernising its entire IT landscape. A companywide program has been put in place to migrate towards modern cloud environments, which impacts many departments within the organisation, as they’re made responsible for designing and implementing the migration of their own systems.

One of those departments is KLM flight operations, which consists of a diverse (but outdated) landscape of applications, from simple custom-build Java web apps to commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications that require a complex infrastructure to properly integrate with KLM’s core systems.

This session will take you through the steps taken to both prepare and manage current and future change of the IT landscape within KLM flight operations, with a strong focus on implementing the Hexagonal Architecture and the migration patterns used to provide the required flexibility needed to push the program towards success.
