Carvel: The K8s Swiss-Army Knife

The “right tool for the right job” drives the quality of any job and the efficiency of execution. The evolution of Kubernetes into the de facto container orchestration has brought the need to have a good toolset to interact with the cluster to the forefront. The Carvel tools are built based on specific needs for managing the lifecycle of resources on Kubernetes.

You’ll learn about the purpose of all the tools on the Carvel set and get hands-on experience working with the tools. This will allow you to manage the supply chain aspects of the applications that are destined to run on the Kubernetes clusters. We’ll include certain nuanced aspects of managing resources on air-gapped clusters that may need image relocation. We’ll conclude with the usage of the “kapp controller,” an efficient way to manage resources on the clusters.
